South West WA producer discovery
This Statement of Work covers ongoing SEO for The Backyard Pantry’s marketplace and directory. The first focus area is Perth south of the river through to Busselton, before expansion to other regions.
The work will build indexable producer, category and regional location pages, then support them with useful product and buying content. It follows the approved audit for backyardpantry.com.au.
Current barriers
The audit identified 4 areas that affect organic visibility and order volume.
Each barrier is fixable with content and on-page work. No technical rebuild is needed, and every striking-distance keyword rates Easy difficulty.
Proposed work sequence
The work starts with the pages and fixes most likely to affect visibility, then expands into categories, locations and supporting content.
Quick wins
- Add a keyword-focused H1 and hand-written meta description to the homepage
- Push the page-two keywords: deepen the jarrah honey, truffle salt and raised garden bed product pages
- Add intro copy to /products/ and top category pages
- Fix robots.txt: review the query-string disallow and crawl delay so directory and filter pages stay crawlable
Foundation
- Launch olive oil, organic fruit & veg and organic meat category pages
- Build South West producer location pages (Perth south of the river, Mandurah, Bunbury, Busselton, Margaret River)
- Publish the pasture-raised vs free-range eggs and jarrah honey benefits guides
- Add product schema with ratings and price
Growth
- Build out the avocado oil and olive oil buying guides chasing the biggest head terms
- Grow the recipe library, each post linking to the ingredient products
- Expand producer and stall pages: the Geraldton markets pages prove the model earns page-1 local rankings
- Pursue featured snippets on the education terms
Capturing top-3 positions on the current page-two keywords alone is worth roughly 1,113 extra visits and around 22 orders each month, before any of the new category, eggs or regional location pages start ranking. This is an estimate from search data, not a guarantee.
